Project Coordinator needed to implement a Latino school-based underage drinking prevention program and curriculum at multiple high school sites in Tucson. The Project Coordinator will work with and under the general direction and supervision of the Project Director to plan and carry out project activities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provide training and technical assistance to the project sites: Luz-Guerrero Early College High School, Desert View High School and/or Sunnyside High School • Assist in the planning, organizing, and execution of project trainings and orientation meetings for the project sites. • Assist in the execution of Sembrando Salud and the Aztec Prevention Model programming at specific project sites. • Assist with program evaluation as needed. • Promote prevention models, culturally competent programs, academic enrichment, and parenting programs to the project sites. • Develop and implement alcohol prevention marketing and media strategy including but not limited to development of brochures, monthly newsletter, flyers, etc. • Participate and attend required monthly meeting and events. • Prepare and submit monthly reports; a monthly calendar of events, and participate in other evaluation activities as required. • Perform other tasks necessary to achieve goals and objectives of project. • Perform other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: • Knowledge of prevention models including the risk and protective factors and the community mobilization framework. • Knowledge of prevention methods and techniques such as communication, collaboration, vision and goal setting, conflict resolution, and productivity. • Ability to work and communicate with diverse populations. • Ability to demonstrate enthusiasm, generate participation, and provide team leadership. • Ability to work independently with limited supervision. • Must have strong management ethics and skills • Must submit reports on a timely manner • Must have strong group dynamics and facilitation • Must be confidentially reliable • Must be dependable and report to work on a timely manner • Must exhibit professional maturity • Must be respectful to all individuals in the work place • Must possess trustworthiness and honesty qualities • Demonstrates knowledge, skills and ability in management and administrative functions • Demonstrates ability to effectively work with all staff as a team player and leader • Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills • Must be proficient with all Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.) • Proven ability to be team player with self-starting/motivating qualities • Must exhibit discipline with all work requirements outline within this job description Skills / Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, Human Services, Education, or related field required. Minimum of two years work-related experience in community prevention programs. Bilingual English and Spanish required. Computer competency required (word processing, spreadsheet, and database management, and Internet familiarity).
Must have prior experience teaching in a classroom setting with youth in grades 6-12. Alcohol related work experience in prevention or treatment preferred. Important Notes
Must submit to pre-employment Drug Test and have a Fingerprint Clearance Card on file with Identity Verified Prints. Must provide a current valid AZ Drivers License and AZ Dept. of Transportation driving record for the last three years.
