Jobing Description
Summary:
Responsible for activities related to outreach, education, counseling, and case management services for children and their families.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develops and/or participates in the implementation of program goals and objectives.
2. Coordinates, supervises, and participates in the activities of a spe¬cialized program.
3. Supervises and evaluates the work of counselors and other support staff and participates in the hiring process.
4. Provides support to staff and participates in daily activities essen¬tial to the com¬pletion of program objectives, including, but not limi¬ted to, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of children receiving specialized program services.
5. Reviews all cases on a regular basis to determine effectiveness of program services.
6. Coordinates outreach and referral process.
7. Meets regularly with other program staff to coordinate activities, address issues, resolve problems and review program goals and objec¬tives.
8. Coordinates program activities with community-based agencies and the public.
9. Attends provider meetings and communicates outcome to appropriate staff and administration.
10. Participates in the writing, development, and implementation of various proposals and grants.
11. Provides consultation, education and demonstration to a variety of professional and community groups.
12. Assists in public relations and media activities to promote the program.
13. Performs other related activities in accordance with agency growth and changes.

Skills / Requirements
Education and/or Experience:
Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related behavioral health field, plus two years' related experience including some experience coordinating or supervising the work of others.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

1. Demonstrates clinical competencies in accordance with standards for the position.
2. Demonstrates competencies in accordance with CODAC standards.
3. Extensive knowledge of managed care systems and AHCCCS/Title XIX medical necessity criteria.
4. Extensive knowledge in a variety of treatment modalities, including but not limited to family systems therapy.
5. Extensive knowledge in the areas relating to children, adolescents, and families.
6. Considerable ability in supervision, training, and evaluation of personnel.
7. Considerable knowledge of community resources.
8. Considerable ability to develop and implement goals and objectives.
9. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Important Notes
Independent AZ licensure required.
Prefer working knowledge of private health insurance, grants management & public behavioral health contract management.
Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
Must possess a valid Arizona Driver’s license, maintain automobile liability insurance and have a Clean Motor Vehicle Record for the past 3 years.
Fingerprint Clearance Required.
Must obtain and maintain certification and adolescent First Aid and CPR.
