Grant Writer
Please submit a Cover Letter, Resume and Proposal writing sample to Director of Employee Services at info@emergecenter.org See website for more information www.emergecenter.org JOB DESCRIPTION: Grant Writer JOB SUMMARY: The Grant Writer is responsible for the development, writing and submission of all proposals, letters of inquiry and grant applications. The Grant Writer also researches new funding sources at local, state and federal levels, as well as with corporate and private foundations. In addition, the Grant Writer develops outlines, timelines, staffing, and budgets for grant proposals and disseminates information on grant opportunities to the leadership. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: • Oversees and coordinates all grant writing activities for the agency • Evaluates the funding needs of the agency in partnership with agency leadership team. • Regularly conducts research to identify new potential funding sources • Collaborates with the agency leadership to write project narratives, develop budgets and establish goals for funding proposals • Researches and establishes contact and relationships with funding prospects to assess compatibility with agency goals • Writes both government grants as well as private foundation grants to ensure a diversified funding stream for the organization. • Attends trainings and meetings as a representative of the agency • Performs other duties as assigned Skills / Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelors Degree in related field. • A minimum of two (2) years experience with non-profit grant writing. • Knowledge researching data needed for grant proposals • Experience researching and identifying funding sources • Experience interpreting requests for proposals and funding guidelines • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred. OTHER SKILLS: • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written • Ability to manage multiple projects • Ability to meet deadlines and establish realistic timelines. • Excellent critical thinking • Intermediate to advanced computer skills using MS Programs. • Ability to liaison and network with other agencies • Work effectively as a team member • Ability to work well independently and be self-motivated • Effective time management skills • Strong decision making and problem solving skills. • Strong attention to detail.
